Dr. Daniel Choi

Dr. Daniel Choi was born in 1978 in Cleveland, Ohio, and was raised by two loving South Korean immigrant parents. He later moved to a surrounding suburb until graduating from high school. He pursued his undergraduate degree in Business and Sociology at the University of California at Los Angeles. Upon graduating, he pursued his interest in dentistry at Ohio State University and graduated in 2008. He then continued his education with an additional 3 years of surgical training at the University of Pittsburgh and graduated in 2011. Dr. Choi immediately moved to the Dallas Fort Worth area where he’s been practicing since.

Dr. Choi enjoys seeing patients and getting them the results they desire. When he has free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Julie, his son, his daughter, and their dog Mollie. He also enjoys the outdoors, weekend trips, working out at the gym, and going golfing.

Dr. Manhvu Nguyen

Dr. Nguyen is more commonly known by his friends as Vu. Striving to be a patient-centric dentist, he incorporates his patients’ desires and wishes into a tailored treatment plan that brings the patients the best value, without compromising quality. Dr. Nguyen’s practice of dentistry stems from the idea of treating patients like family members, with a friendly smile and genuine sense of care. He believes patient education and preventative care are the best ways to establish long-lasting friendships as well as enjoyable dental check-ups. It brings him great satisfaction seeing a comfortable and happy patient leaving with a healthy smile! Dr. Nguyen was born and raised in Southern California. He followed his passion to become a dentist at the University of Southern California, Fight on! Shortly after graduation, he made the move to Dallas, TX to pursue his passion to practice dentistry. 

In his free time,  you can find him enjoying staying up to date on advances in the dental field by attending various CE courses. But outside of these doors, you can find him chasing his 4 small furbabies, Coco, Alex, Ani, and Louis as well as learning to become a better father to his two children, Ethan and Madison. Dr. Nguyen hopes to continue traveling the world and embarking on new adventures with his lovely and amazing wife, Pam, who he’s known since Kindergarten.

Dr. Sungjoon Koo

After spending years away from Texas for his post-secondary education, Dr. Koo moved back to the great state six years ago to serve the dental needs of his fellow Texans.

Raised in South Korea and Austin, Dr. Koo majored in biology at Brown University and attended the University of Pennsylvania for his dental degree.

Dr. Koo discovered his love for the surgical side of dentistry and implant dentistry during his residency year at NYU Langone Dental Medicine’s Advanced Education in General Dentistry. Prior to joining North Texas Dental Surgery, he gained extensive experience in surgical procedures at dental offices in Central Texas. Dr. Koo has placed and restored over a thousand implants for full smile makeovers (“All-on-X”), snap-on dentures, and single tooth cases.

Outside of dental surgery, Dr. Koo enjoys weightlifting and karaoke. His favorite song to perform in front of a live audience? He’ll give you the answer when you meet him at NTDS.

Dr. Koukousaki

Dr. Ioanna Koukousaki was born and raised in Greece, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree from the Dental School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Following graduation, she gained experience by working in several private dental practices in Greece for the subsequent year.

To enhance her expertise in complex cosmetic, restorative, and surgical implant dentistry, Dr. Koukousaki pursued a three-year Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics at the Texas A&M School of Dentistry in Dallas. There, she earned a Certificate in Prosthodontics and a Master’s Degree in Oral Biology.

Throughout her educational journey in Greece and the United States, Dr. Koukousaki received numerous scholarships and awards in recognition of her outstanding academic achievements and excellence in the field of Dentistry. She was also exposed to the new world of digital dentistry and 3D printing technology and became especially interested in the opportunities it presents to the design and construction of the perfect smile.

As a certified Prosthodontics specialist, she eagerly anticipates offering comprehensive aesthetic, implant and full mouth reconstructive dentistry services at North Texas Dental Surgery. Dr. Koukousaki’s professional motto, «Cherish your smile. It is unique!», underscores her dedication to spending time with each patient, ensuring their comfort and providing comprehensive education about their dental treatment. She expertly delivers high-quality care, focusing on restoring missing teeth and crafting functional, natural smiles.

Dr. Sung Han

Dr. Sung Han is a board-certified Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon who comes from a family of dentists. He developed an early interest in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery through his father. Inspired by before-and-after pictures of his father’s jaw surgery patients, Dr. Han also wanted to become an oral maxillofacial surgeon to help people using his hands.

He went on to receive his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from Brown University, graduating with Honors. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Detroit Mercy, School of Dentistry in Michigan. He was invited to be a member of the OKU National Dental Honor Society and was the recipient of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) dental student award of his graduating class.

Dr. Han earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Southern California. Afterwards, he completed a 1-year General Surgery internship during which time he was nominated Resident Physician of the Month. He then finished his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Loma Linda University Medical Center where his training focused on dentoalveolar surgery (wisdom teeth removal, bone grafting, and dental implants), oral pathology, anesthesia, facial trauma, and orthognathic surgery. His research during residency focused on in-office anesthesia and multimodal pain management.

Dr. Han is an active member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.

Dr. Han is fluent in English and Korean. Outside of the office, Dr. Han enjoys singing (he was a member of a famous college A cappella group), cooking Thai and Japanese dishes, watching European soccer, and spending time with his wife, daughter, and dog.
